In one of those “What was he thinking?” moments that frequently seem to afflict men, my husband gave me a pedometer for Mother’s Day last May. I put it up on a shelf next to the blender I received for Valentine’s Day. I obviously need to get the word “jewelry” tattooed on my forehead as a subtle hint. |

While finishing this week’s column I found an extraordinary piece of work in my office. Apparently, my ten year old wrote a letter to herself and for some strange reason it got mixed in with my work. This amazing piece of writing was a letter to herself about her eleventh birthday. After reading a few sentences I took the column I had written for this week and tore it into shreds. |

Chicago, Illinois - Unusually aggressive youth may actually enjoy inflicting pain on others, research using brain scans at the University of Chicago shows.Scans of the aggressive youth's brains showed that an area that is associated with rewards was highlighted when the youth watched a video clip of someone inflicting pain on another person. Youth without the unusually aggressive behavior did not have that response, the study showed. |
