Sounds simple right? Undoubtedly it is. The key is to have leaders who can let go of their dictatorship mentality and embrace professionalism as the way to lead. In other words, stop treating employees like children and they will stop acting like children. These few recommendations will give you an indication of who embraces emotional involvement in their work and who is just there for a paycheck.

Here are some take-control-tips that should inspire productivity:

*  Offer daily bulletin board, P.A, or e-mail announcements every morning to inspire the troops. Use anything from inspirational quotes, company milestones, historic events and speeches, or just a passionate message from someone in the company.

*  Clean House! Most companies overlook negative employees for whatever reason. These people are poison for productivity and customer service. Everyone is replaceable, especially; in times like these. With in a week, you can have fifty to seventy five applications waiting to fill that position. Don’t be afraid; remove them before they ruin your business!

*  Present each employee in management a company journal to jot down ideas and improvements. Make an effort to have these presented each quarter to the right person. You might find that diamond- in-the-ruff right under your nose.

*  Offer Car Pools

*  Hold employee reviews every three months

*  Unannounced executive visits. This will let top brass see what really goes on and keep employees on their toes.

*  Encourage employees to help each other during these tough times. Have them form groups to help with child care, counseling, form walking groups during breaks, breakfast clubs and so on. This encourages stress relief and helps the mind clear so it can be more productive.

*  Bring in outside businesses and create a brochure with discounts for employees that could be used on gas, food, family fun, etc.

*  Most important, if you implement it, follow through on it. If you change the rules, make sure everyone follows them. No favorites on this one. Employees see everything so don’t embarrass yourself as a leader.

The most important thing to remember is employees are the representatives of the company. They are the face of the products and services you sell. One of the leading causes for failure is not the company, but how the company is represented.
