Simplicity is the name of the game when trying to make any change in your life. That is my rule when offering any advice. I am a fan of simple things that produce amazing results. This technique is the oldest trick in the book; as a matter of fact, advertisers use it everyday. It is called visualization by repetition.

You see their work everyday as you travel. Advertisers have billboards everywhere promoting just about everything. Most of you, myself included, start to memorize these billboards as we drive by on a daily basis. One of the most famous ones I recall was down South on I-95. The ingenious South-of-the-Boarder signs every few miles drove me crazy, but made their point. This company wanted you to stop and they made darn sure you remembered every few miles with signs posted along the highway. Even though it became a nuisance after the first few miles, I stopped to see what they had to offer. I don’t know if they are still around, but I will never forget how their simple version of advertising made me so intrigued it caused me to pull over just out of curiosity. How we incorporate that same technique into changing our life is done virtually the same way.

To do this you want to use today’s technology and create a virtual scrap book of pictures and add them to your journal. The first picture we want is really special and is vital to make this system work. I need you to find a picture of “you.” Meaning, I want this first picture that goes in your journal to be you at your best. If you don’t have one then take one. I don’t care how you do it or how you look, but make sure you are smiling from ear to ear with a look of confidence in your eyes. This is a great reality check when you are having a bad day and you see this beautiful person when you open your journal.

I do not recommend putting family pictures or even a loved one as part of this process. The reality is you are here to focus on you because you need to make yourself happy first. You might think you are being selfish, but understand that if you are not happy on the inside then how can you create happiness on the outside. It all starts with you first.

How I came to this conclusion was quite simple. I remember being in dire straits financially and looking at my journal one night as I wrote. As I opened my journal the first thing I noticed was a picture of my family. The feelings of guilt and sadness about our situation perpetuated to the point of physical tears because I focused on my families circumstances instead of myself to find away out to help everyone. From that moment, I knew that it was time to change my journal to inspire me instead of triggering those bad feelings.

This is the fun part. Just find any pictures you want and paste them in your journal. It can be anything from homes, cars, a picture of money, or something in there to personally juice you. This psychological process lets you create the future by letting you see your future. By having the picture of you with those material things creates a picture of success and accomplishment in your mind. This method of creating the lifestyle you want is truly powerful and will work if you let it.
