Their numbers range in the thousands across this country with more joining the ranks everyday. They don’t need to be certified, just creative, suave, very hyper and poof! You have a motivational speaker. Of coarse there is some intelligence involved, but you get the picture.

I have only attended one seminar in my life involving a person in this field. The man was an icon in the 80’s and 90’s, a motivational guru with millions of books sold to his credit. I have to admit; I was sucked into this movement as an advocate for many years, but changed my thinking after doing a little research.

The point is you don’t need anyone to motivate you. You can do it yourself. Motivation is an emotion that is triggered in the mind by your surroundings and can come and go in a split second. All of you can relate to this feeling by just listening to a radio. When you hear a song you like a feeling instantly wakes you up into a jovial mood. The problem is, once the song is over you lose most of that feeling. This is comparable to a motivational seminar.

What you need to create real change in your life is Passion, Purpose, and Inspiration. These powerful beliefs come from your heart and sole and offer relentless energy to achieve a desired result. Everyone carries these beliefs. They are the survival mechanisms that keep us going everyday.

Once you find your purpose for being on this Earth you gain passion. Once you have passion for the purpose you look for the inspiration to help you achieve what you want. These three key elements are the ingredients to a healthy productive life.

As for the motivational speakers, I truly believe that most try to offer help and are good people. The fact is they are creative business people that charge large fees for temporary relief. Some are charlatans in suits and you must use your judgment if you want to hire one.
