What most people don’t realize is outside of the beautiful products and tasty treats there is a chemical formula needed to create these products. Every recipe had to be followed perfectly or the product would not evolve into a treat, but a nightmare. I learned the hard way through trial and error. Unfortunately, I lost many jobs as a result. Another perfect recipe that comes to mind but has nothing to do with baking is how our countries foundation was created. The same principles of adding ingredients to a product were used by adding the best minds at the time to create a perfect piece of legislation known as The Constitution. I have not lost my mind comparing apple turnovers to some of the greatest minds ever assembled, but we should consider the power struggle going on in Washington. The likes of Washington, Franklin, and Hamilton (just to name a few) all got together and documented The Preamble that overtime became the law of the land. I am not an attorney (thank goodness for that), but if you read The Constitution and realize what is going on in Washington today it would make your head spin. The backdoor deals, unfair taxation, and secrecy regarding future legislation is exactly why the document was written in the first place, to protect us from such blatant abuse of power. These types of shenanigans are nothing new in Washington, but has this country ever witnessed such a rush of control in history? I think not. Many Presidents have tried and failed to change this document in favor of their own agendas, but Americans would not stand for it back then. Why now? That is the million dollar question. If there is one thing I would recommend it is that you read The Constitution. Section-8 clause-1 will inform you on equal taxation which pertains to potential healthcare legislation and Section-5 clause-3 will educate you on transparency our Government has found away to get around. These are important issues the media will not report and it is our job as Americans to hold our Representatives accountable for their actions. Whatever political party you follow this is important information everyone must carry with them to the ballot box. A perfect recipe is one that is followed and not changed. The Preamble which begins with “We the People” is slowly being replaced with “We the Government.” I hope we all understand that if something is not broken, then there is no need to fix it. © Jerry Maldonado 2010- all rights reserved This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it |

As a child, I remember the wonderful sights and smells from our neighborhood bakery. Like clockwork the aroma would make it’s way into my bedroom and wake me at dawn every morning. I knew then this would be my career of choice and I spent the next two decades working and learning everything about it.
